Fabulous ice cream made "in house" in an old fashioned ice cream parlor that also serves lunch fare. I highly recommend...but be prepared...the line to get in can be daunting.
Great ice cream for the past 12 years ,I've been going there . Friendly place ,great family restaurant, food for the past 12 year's delicious highly recommend Jaxson's.
"I want a Sunday sundae!" We visited Jaxson's on a Sunday afternoon about 10 years ago. That phrase was uttered repeatedly and loudly by a young boy at a nearby table. It was a bit annoying, but I wish I could go back and thank the kid because my family and I can never again have ice cream without thinking about a "Sunday sundae" and Jaxson's. The ice cream is good, but you're here because the place is iconic. Being in this part of Florida and not going to Jaxson's would be like going to South Dakota and not seeing Mount Rushmore. Definitely get the kitchen sink. No, you might not be able to finish it, but you HAVE to get it anyway. Seeing it on someone else's table doesn't count. Whatever you do, I hope you're as blessed with a memorable experience as we were.
Coming to Jaxson's for the first time, I was not disappointed. My mom is a lover of old school diners and burgers and while we were at the beach, we decided to pass by Jaxson's. Even though it was busy, we were sat quickly. Upon going inroads, it feels like you have traveled back in time with all the momentos from the 50's-60's. The burger was incredible. The burger had a great taste and cooked to perfection. The ice cream, I mean where do I begin - the chocolate was so rich in flavor. The service was prompted. I would love to go back when I'm in the area.
An incredible ice cream shop that has a fun vintage interior. Upon sitting down, they provide the table with a bowl of popcorn which is quite fun and the decor throughout the restaurant (and even outside) gives it a feeling of having entered a circus. Their ice cream scoops are rather large and the minimum for an adult is 2 scoops of ice cream. We decided to share a banana split which comes with a heaping portion of whipped cream and toppings of your choice, a split banana (of course), and 3 scoops of ice cream. Note that there is a $2.50 fee per person to share, but the portion sizes are rather large and I'd recommend sharing. All the ice cream is made in-house and I really like the mocha chip! The staff are fun, friendly, and dressed in carney-style pinstripe outfits!
Heard so many great things about this ice cream parlor, so we knew it had to fit in to our visit. Love that old-time ice cream parlor feel - complete with the coin-activated kiddie rides, ice cream-themed picture boards, and a gift shop complete with old school candies and toys. Definitely is a busy place. We came after dinner to grab ice cream, and they have two options - order to go outside or grab a table for an indoor meal or dessert. The line for to-go ended up being about 45 minutes, so definitely come prepared to wait. Ice cream is pretty good. We tried the Mocha Caramel Coconut Crackle - good ratio of all the flavors and not overly sweet. We got the single scoop, which they say is 1/4 pound. It was $7.50, but a good portion of ice cream and enough to share between the two of us. Overall, a fun stop for ice cream. Ice cream is good, but nothing overly special. What really makes this place a great stop is the full experience of old-fashioned ice cream parlor.
WORLD FAMOUS JAXSONS ICE CREAM PARLOR established in 1956. They have the legendary Kitchen Sink sundae plenty for four humans. Although, I did order the mini version but still alot of sugar. People line up outside waiting for an interior table but they do offer a walk up window for ice cream. Usually tons of kids here. They have an area inside that displays really unique candies for sale and of course you get free popcorn when you sit down. In addition to ice cream, they have a huge loaded hot dog on a soft bun.
If you're looking for some unique flavored ice cream and a visit to a South Florida classic, then Jaxson's is the place to be! Located at the corner of a shopping plaza, Jaxson's offers dine in and take out (window). Jaxson's has been a family owned and operated business for 60 years! I assume because I visited at night on the weekend, they were extra busy, but I can see this place being busy all the time! I just went for ice cream and waited in line to order at the take out window (about 30 minutes). There's a variety of ice cream flavors and you can choose getting one or two scoops of it in a cup or a cone, ordering a sundae, malt or even an ice cream soda. I got one scoop of ice cream in a cone. There are 4 cone options to choose from and there's an up charge for a couple of them. While the wait to order was quite long, the wait for the ice cream was about 5 minutes. I orders the strawberry cheesecake flavor and it was delicious, full of strawberry flavor and very, very sweet. If you're ever in South Florida and have a sweet tooth for some ice cream (or something savory), definitely check out Jaxson's!
First let me say if you are hungry come here. Everything here is supersized so if you are looking for something small, this is not it. When we went there was a high school band concert so the lines were all over the place and a bit confusing, however when we went into the country store we waited maybe 5-10 minutes and were seated right away. They were super busy even though it was almost 9pm. They bring you popcorn and 2 pitchers of water right away give you time to order. Our waitress was super nice. I will return for her. At the end of the night she gave us a little rubber ducky. Coming here is like going back in time and seeing the evolution of American food. All the food was good and service was just great!
What a fun place to go to! I see why it is a big deal and a major tourist attraction in Dania Beach. My daughter just told me it has been on her bucket list for a while now. You can't miss it while driving because it is so colorful from the outside with a mini-carousel out front and the red and white outside decor. You will also notice the lines of people waiting to get inside. The ambiance is nostalgic and cool vibes. Great for families, groups, and seniors! Just know that it will be noisy inside, but that is just the sign of a happy place. We both ordered a Sundae. My choice was Cookie Monster with hot fudge topping - omg, it was delicious! My daughter had Cookie Monster with caramel topping. She was in ice cream heaven while eating it. It is homemade ice cream, so you can just imagine! Our server was Jeremy, who was friendly, efficient, and attentive with a great personality! With so many people there, he was amazingly good at checking on us at a very good pace! We had a great time looking at all the collectibles in the store, too. Reminders of childhood. Parking is a challenge in this free parking lot shared by several other businesses. Just keep driving around. Spaces do open up.
